The GMO Syndicate in America

GMOS: Untested, Unsafe, Unnatural, UnAmerican
Genetically Modified Organisms are created when a plant is altered to be resistant to disease, pesticides and possibly an environmental factor such as drought. GMOs are designed to survive whopping levels of toxic pesticide exposure.
The process of genetically altering plants involves injecting viruses into the plant to carry the new DNA.  Even though this creates tumors in injected plants, tumors weren’t enough to warrant safety testing.  GMO Corn for instance is inserted with DNA from Bacillus Thuringiensis Bacteria to create BT corn. While BT corn is capable of warding of crop-destructive insects, it’s also capable of causing disease in humans and is linked to organ damage, breast, ovarian and prostate cancer not to mention infertility.
The majority of GMO crops are created to withstand heavy application of Monsanto’s ‘Round Up’ (Glyphosate). Monsanto is not alone though, the GMO syndicate is made up of other sinister players: Bayer, Dow, Dupont, BASF & Syngenta. It’s interesting that while the presence of GMOs unlabeled and unidentified increases in American’s food supply most other countries either banned them long ago or at the very least insist on labeling.  Meanwhile in America diseases like autism, Alzheimers, ADHD, diabetes, and cancer keep accelerating in leaps and bounds. It’s curious that the companies making the GMO foods are the same chemical companies making the pesticides and the pharmaceuticals.
HEALTH RISKS OF GMOs
Dr. Ron Huber, a renowned plant pathologist and professor at Purdue University has noted that,
Round Up (Glyphosate) was first patented as a mineral chelator. It immobilizes nutrients, so they’re not physiologically available for your body.  “You may have the mineral [in the plant], but if it’s chelated with glyphosate, it’s not going to be available physiologically for you to use, so you’re just eating a piece of gravel,” Dr. Huber says.  Dr. Huber also has found a previously undetected organism in GMO plants that is completely new to science and worse, capable of causing sudden miscarriages.
Still despite this and other warnings from scientists and experts alike, the FDA and EPA remain silent and won’t consider halting planting, protecting us, or requiring labeling.  Please keep in mind this food was never tested or cleared for safety on humans.  Independent tests and observations have verified the dangerous toll on animal health, yet these foods continue infecting our food supply. Amazing that some of the most respected politicians in this country have heralded GMOs as virtuous.  Amazing too that Monsanto attorneys and lobbyists are not just leading the FDA, they now are the FDA.
Where’s the outcry?  President Obama appointed Michael Taylor, Monsanto’s chief lobbyist as the FDA Food Czar!  And he was the President who said he would get lobbyists out of government!  One thing’s for sure, The companies making GMOs do not care about the dangerous health risks posed by GMOs.  Perhaps all the people in our government who endorse and support Monsanto and GMOs and don’t think labeling matters, perhaps they could show us how safe these foods are? Let them eat GMO foods and nothing else for a month.

  • Corn, Corn Syrup (BT corn causes male sterility, damages liver, kidneys…)
  • Cotton, Cottonseed oil (Farmers have observed their animals  that graze on GMO cotton tend to get sick and die prematurely)
  • Sugar Beets (most Sugar in the U.S. is now derived from GMO sugar beets)
  • Soy (GMO soy is linked with sterility, hair growing in the mouth–that is nasty)
  • Canola Oil (Rapeseed, produces long chains of non-digestible trans fatty acids)
  • rBGH Milk and Dairy Products (rBGH is linked with breast, uterine, and prostate cancer, bladder infections)
  • Rice (Golden). vitamin and mineral deficient
  • Papaya
  • Yellow Squash, Zucchini
  • Alfalfa, sadly the first perennial approved for genetic modification by President Obama
  • Apples (Arctic)
  • Salmon, Pending

SOLUTIONS

If we can’t get our government to stop the syndicate, we can Boycott the food makers that utilize GMO ingredients as well as discontinue buying any garden, pesticide, fertilizer, or medical product made by Bayer, Monsanto, Dupont, Dow, or Syngenta or their affiliates.
