Are You Aware of the Hidden Dangers in Sewage Sludge? Protect Your Health Now!
People throughout the world may need to reuse and recycle things a bit more these days, but some ideas take it a little too far. Take Sewage Sludge for example, otherwise known as Biosolids, sewage waste, poop. This is human waste that’s been treated and repurposed for fertilizer use!
Initially imagined as an efficient way to reinvigorate soil with minerals, the fertilizer is more like a curse that won’t go away. It’s loaded with forever chemicals– PFAS, heavy metals, carcinogens, hazardous waste, microplastics, pharmaceuticals, and a whole lot of bad bacteria, viruses, pathogens, and maybe the worst of all–PARASITES! This is not good. I’m sure by now you’ve heard about the Forever Chemicals and how bad that is, but there’s more to the story. What will PFAS do to our health in the long term? Applying this stuff to farmland and sneaking into our gardening products won’t lead to good food, or good health for any of us. We must insist the US halt this Biosolid nonsense pronto!
FARM LAND BECOMES CRAP LAND
Today, Sewage Sludge is applied to more 20 million acres of farm fields across the US! Since 2016, that’s about 19.1 billion pounds of Waste Excrement.[i] What health effects this causes is wildly unknown. You may have heard about the alarming rise in PFAS they’ve discovered in this fertilizer, but that’s only the tip of the iceberg! The residuals from biosolids, from PFAS to parasites are ending up in our drinking water, in the soil, in the plants and animals, and in us by golly! We are all affected by this, and must take action. See this in-depth Newsmax report on Sludge and how it all began.
HOW SEWAGE SLUDGE BECOMES FERTILIZER
At facilities with modern technology, like Boston’s Deer Island plant,[ii] waste can be treated to be super clean. And that’s great in countless ways! However, even after all the cleaning at a super facility like Deer Island, many pesky groups of contaminants remain—including PFAS, the most dreaded forever chemicals that include Teflon. These substances are called forever for a reason. Wherever these biosolids are spread, PFAS contamination is prevalent. Scientists have begun peering into the long-term effects for human and animal health. Evidence from isolated tests on rats shows liver damage and other organs affected. “It’s not one or two PFAS compounds that pose the risk, but the flood of PFAS chemicals, both legacy or emerging, that continue to accumulate in the environment.”[iii]
1000s of Toxins, Forever Chemicals, At Least 352 Hazardous Pollutants!
Right now, universities and public health scientists are conducting research while the EPA moves like a snail on this issue. Instead of taking the helm, the EPA Biosolids Program is struggling with funding and leadership. One would think they’d treat this issue with urgency. Now with the Trump Administration Cuts I’m not sure we’re going to see any leadership on this issue for quite some time. It’s entirely up to us to protect ourselves. Citizens Unite!
The danger PFAS contamination poses to our health is a 911. In their own audit, the EPA determined they were unable to adequately assess the health impacts of 352 hazardous pollutants present in biosolids. Further, they recommend the Office of Water and Office of Enforcement and Compliance get involved.[v] Not a bad idea to get some serious folks involved and get the job done. But again, is anyone still there manning that agency?
GOLDMAN SACHS DELIVERS
Synagro, owned by Goldman Sachs, is the largest distributor of biosolids across the U.S. Who knows how much they’re profiting from this scheme. They’re currently being sued[vi] by Texas farmers.
HISTORY OF BIOSOLIDS
The practice of using Sewage sludge for fertilizer gained steam in the 1970s, it was touted as a simple fast way to get minerals and nutrients back into the soil. But it seems it was more often disposed of in the oceans until 1988 when that process was banned. Steadily but surely, land application gained steam. Though evidence of disease risk became evident in the early 2000s, in 2025 biosolids are still being spread by the truckloads daily. Only a few countries including Switzerland and the Netherlands ban biosolids. In 2022 Maine declared a Statewide ban on sewage sludge for fertilizer. At this time, Maine is the only US State with a ban in place.
If this waste could be processed in a way that fully eliminates the pathogens and toxins, instead of concentrating them, then maybe this land use idea could fly. But as things currently stand it’s a losing game for human health.
If you don’t believe me about the parasites, here are some facts from the EPA and other notable scientists:
“Biosolids also contain a variety of pathogens, grouped into bacteria, viruses, protozoa and helminth worms categories. Typically, the densities of these pathogens are reduced two and three orders of magnitude by wastewater treatment and biosolids processing. This reduction, while significant, leaves appreciable numbers of some organisms in digested sewage biosolids. The pathway for infection by pathogens in biosolids is through direct ingestion, inhalation of bioaerosols or contact of an infectious agent with mucous membranes or damaged skin.” [x]
“Although survival of parasites can vary widely, typical survival times for protozoa in sewage are less than 30 days, while eggs of helminths (especially Ascaris) can reportedly survive for many months in manures, raw wastewaters and sludges (Feachem et al., 1983; Schwartzbrod et al., 1987).Protozoan (oo)cysts and helminth eggs are thus both likely to survive beyond typical retention times for treatment processes.”[xi]
CDC: “The human roundworm Ascaris lumbricoides, sometimes just called Ascaris or ascariasis, is a parasitic worm that infects an estimated 772–892 million people globally. Ascaris, along with whipworm and hookworm, is a soil-transmitted helminth (STH). The larvae (immature worms) and adult forms of the parasite live in a person’s intestines. People get ascariasis by consuming contaminated soil.” [xii]

HOW WE ARE EXPOSED
- Drinking water contaminated with biosolids
- Eating contaminated food (be sure to wash your vegetables and fruits)
- Using gardening products that contain biosolids
- Working on a farm that uses biosolids
- Biosolids are used in over 40 States!
- We need organized federal monitoring and mapping of where biosolids are applied and a citizen protection plan!
HEALTH EFFECTS FROM THESE CONTAMINANTS INCLUDE:
Liver damage, kidney cancer, testicular cancer, parasitic infections, cancer, increased cholesterol, weight gain, obesity, increases risk of high blood pressure, change in liver enzymes, Birth defects, delayed development, newborn death.[iv]
Thank God biosolids are not allowed on organic farms!
Now, if this is the first time you’ve heard about Biosolids, I apologize for breaking the news to you. It may seem controversial, after all how could something so unsanitary and unhealthy be used as fertilizer? I do hope you have already finished your dinner;) I’m here as the messenger only, trying to help people like yourself avoid disease as much as possible. I’ll admit I’m obsessed with trying to help people avoid disease and heal from it if they’ve got it. This is because I lost my parents to cancer when I was 19, and ever since then I’ve been consumed with raising public awareness about things that cause disease and need to change. Biosolids is one of them.
Common sense points to the fact that this practice isn’t contributing to health and wellness. Ingesting these types of toxins and pathogens can tilt our health and influence gut disease of all kinds. I’m not sure who started it, but they do say all disease begins in the gut. The EPA had already made it quite clear that helminths and parasite eggs can and do survive chemical biosolids processing, so it’s very easy for these creatures to make a home in our bodies. If this doesn’t appeal to you, know that by shopping organically you have a much better chance to avoid all the disgusting things found in biosolids. At the very least, filter your water to avoid these and PFAS and everything else setting your health up for dependency on Big Pharma.
One last note I feel must be included as it impacts gut and immune health:
Complicating matters even further is what scientists are now discovering post Covid–that the spike protein from the Covid virus itself, as well as from the vaccine, can alter our gut microbiome. The spike protein may remain in our system for some time, binding to different receptors particularly in our digestive system. This can affect our blood as well as our colon health and entire immune system. Evidence is showing these spike proteins seem to be drawn to the endothelial cells lining the colon[xiii] and there they induce inflammation. Could this be the spark that sets off an immune reaction from over-exposure to toxins? And driving the surge in various diseases and cancer? It seems pretty clear by now that the spike protein was modified in the ‘Gain of Function’ Laboratories– as a modified virus it’s still unclear how this new protein alters our immune system. Thankfully, scientists are on the case and discovering methods that can clear the spike protein out of our body. See below for methods to clear Spike protein from your body.
SOLUTIONS
- Wash and rinse all your produce, lettuce and all vegetables and fruits well, especially those grown in or on the ground. Personally, I like to give my greens a ‘bath’ in a bowl of water and let them soak a bit. Then I sift out any soil or sand, then rinse well and rinse again.
- Filter your tap water to avoid contaminants from runoff pollution
- Consider eating organically to avoid Biosolid filth in your food! (Biosolids are not allowed on organic farms)
- Wash your hands with soap and water before preparing food, and after handling raw meat or fish. Keep your food surfaces clean to avoid cross contamination.
- Let’s save everyone’s health & ban biosolids across the U.S.!
- Toxins, microbes, viruses, parasites and PFAS in biosolids make it harder for people to avoid disease.
- Learn more about Sludge: News report on Biosolids
- Avoid home gardening products that contain Biosolids: compost, top soil, fertilizer. It won’t be identified on the label, but can be included nonetheless. From research I found, avoid those with ingredients listing residuals, biosolids, municipal waste. Contaminated Products identified include: A1’s biocomp, Milorganite, Dillo Dirt, those made by Synagro, Kellogg Garden Products, Scott’s performance organics all purpose soil, Scott’s miracle gro, Earthblends, N-Viro Soil, Glacier Gold, Compost T, Tagro, Groco, Bay State Fertilizer, Earthwise Organics, to see a full list go to sludgenews.org.
- If you are affected with gut or colon problems that are related to pathogens or parasites from biosolids, supplements and specific herbs can help your body heal itself. First you need to clear the infection, which involves first clearing the biofilm. Then you target the pathogen with substances like oregano oil, Black cumin seed, anti-parasitic medications, caprylic acid, ginger, lemongrass can help purge toxins from body, while milk thistle seed and glutathione can assist liver and keeping your detox channels strong to eliminate them. You also need to alternate with providing good bacteria to your gut in the form of probiotics. During the process, for rapid healing you want to avoid those things that enable bad bacteria to thrive in your gut such as: antibiotics, glyphosate residues in food, alcohol, overly processed foods, sugar diets, stress. Lastly, be sure to keep hydrated and drink sufficient clean water to remove what doesn’t belong there. And get enough rest daily to maintain strength and a positive attitude.
- If you are concerned about your health, or have lingering long covid and wish to clear spike protein from your system, scientists [xiv] have found some substances alone or in combination that can inhibit the protein and clear it through autophagy upregulation. Not overdoing it is essential. Here’s a partial list: Quercetin, improving health of gut microbiome, prebiotics and probiotics, fasting, resveratrol, infrared sauna, oxygen and HBOT, turmeric, herbal tea, green tea, exercise, MSM sulfur and vitamin C, natto, ozone therapy, and ivermectin.
